What is the Tech Republic Africa Innovation Camp Challenge?
The Innovation Camp Challenge is a game application contest exclusively for students who successfully completed the the Tech Republic Africa Innovation Camp (August 2015 Edition).
The contest challenges them to develop concepts for game apps that help solve a problem in their community based on a particular theme.
This edition’s contest theme is: “Conserving Kenya’s Natural Resources.”
Prizes include certificates, exposure and a brand new Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet.

Who can enter?
Only students who successfully completed the Innovation Camp (August 2015 Edition) can enter.
What do I submit?
1. ENTRANT INFORMATION
Entrant Information will include:
a. Name of the Entrant and Entrant’s App Concept;
b. Entrant Level: Primary School (5th – 8th grades / standards) or High School (9th – 12th grades / forms 1 – 4);
c. Completed Parent / Legal Guardian authorization form (“Contest Rules & Authorization Form”).
2. APP CONCEPT ESSAY
A 150 – 200 word essay describing the App Concept (“Concept Pitch”). The Concept Pitch should include:
a. A description of the identified need or problem and an explanation of how the mobile App Concept will address the identified problem/need with the context of the theme – “Conserving Kenya’s Natural Resources”;
b. Identification of the primary audience for the app, description of the intended user experience and how it is appropriate for the intended audience;
c. Description of the uniqueness of the proposed mobile app solution;
3. GAME APPLICATION
Each eligible entrant shall be required to create and submit a game that reflects the theme – “Conserving Kenya’s Natural Resources”. The entries must be created using Scratch. Entries must be wholly original creations of each entrant.
